SAB Homes is 30! We’re celebrating by doing 30 Good Things. And we’re super-excited to announce our 1st Good Thing for 2019. If you’ve ever been to the SAB Office, you know we’re big animal lovers. We have two dogs, Arlo and Ranger, who come to work every day and we have two cats, Tinkerbell & TJ that live at our office (They were found starving in an unfinished home.). Soooo, it’s a perfect fit for our first Good Thing to be Donating to Wayside Waifs. Look for more Good Things coming soon! We had a blast delivering Valentine’s treats to all the Lee’s Summit Fire Stations and the Police Station. Many volunteer bakers at the SAB Homes office happily contributed to make this a big success. You know what happens when you enter lots of Parade Homes? You end up with overflowing amounts of home decor, bedding, towels, framed art, etc. So, we thought it would be a very Good Thing to donate it to our local Disabled American Veterans in Lee’s Summit. We know they will go to many deserving folks. Good Thing #4 was a nice surprise. The SAB Design team surprised us by sharing Pie with everyone in the office. We were infinitely happy with their generous surprise. Notice how everyone wanted to have some pie, but no one wanted to be photographed eating the pie! Happy Pi Day Everyone! For Good Thing #5, we donated career clothing to KC Dress for Success. This is a fabulous organization, that helps women feel confident in themselves and their appearance. This is a brief explanation of their services.:”KC Dress for Success encourages employed women to continue on their paths to financial freedom through a range of programs that focus on financial literacy, leadership and civic participation. They emerge as leaders who are self-sufficient and economically stable.” We thought it would be a good idea to do some Spring cleaning in the warehouse, which developed into Good Thing #6. Why leave perfectly good building materials sitting around when they can be donated to an awesome organization, such as ReStore Kansas City. Mark did a great job on the forklift, with only about a half an inch leeway. Thanks to the nice guys from ReStore who helped with this delivery. Good Thing #7 is really close to our heart. We are proud to be a sponsor for this year’s Bra Couture KC. This organization helps the uninsured or underinsured cancer patients in the Kansas City area. We love to support a great local cause! The SAB Team participated in the Cass Community Health Foundation’s 25th Annual 5K for Health. Our Good thing #8 was a great way to spend our Saturday. Miles for Smiles!! It’s Good Thing #9 Anyone who has visited the office knows that pets are near and dear to our 💓 at SAB Homes. So, Good Thing #10 benefits the Lee’s Summit Animal Shelter. For Good Thing #11, we donated so many new lamps, mirrors, sofas and more to ReStore they needed two trucks! This donation of home furnishings and decor will help support Habitat for Humanity. For Good Thing #12, we wanted to get our team in on the fun. Everyone was asked to submit ideas that would improve a certain aspect of our home, our processes or plans. We really got some great ideas! For Good Thing #13, we took a little well-deserved break. We invited the whole Team SAB to enjoy the afternoon at Chicken N Pickle and had a great time! We furnish so many model homes, we always end up with a surplus of home furnishings. So, this time, we donated it all to Hope House and turned it into Good Thing #14. The Birthday Blood Drive was a big success. We are appreciative of everyone who donated and helped support the American Red Cross. Office Raffles for tickets and prizes . . . always a Good Thing! In August, we held the Outdoor Style contest. Our homeowners sent in all of their fabulous exterior spaces and awarded a $100 Target gift card to the winner. We like to support our local schools! Good Thing #18 supports the Lee’s Summit DECA club. Cheers to Good Thing #19! After the Fall Parade, we were all ready for Good Thing #20! We got to brush up on our beer knowledge and sample some different varieties from dark to light. Contest are always a Good Thing! #21 made some Parade shoppers happy when they learned they won a $200 Gift Card! All holidays should be celebrated! Good Thing #22, brought to life by the SAB Design Team! Good Thing #23 was a special one in honor of Kimberly Scott. We are so happy to be a part of this Memorial Tournament, held at Creekmoor golf course. For Good Think #24, we collected Thanksgiving food boxes for a Lee’s Summit church, who distributes them to families in need. We loved the Bright Idea Contest so much, we did it again in the Fall. In 2020, we plan to incorporate the winning Bright Ideas. We hope that Good Thing #26 helps all the kiddos in Kansas City stay toasty warm this winter. We are beyond thrilled to be a part of the Artisan tour in 2020. Proceeds benefit JDRF, which is a very Good Thing! Taking part in this fundraiser was great way to make sure no teens are forgotten during the holidays. A little pop tab may not seem like much, but every saved pop tab can make a big difference. Families staying at Ronald McDonald House benefit from this charitable recycling effort. Our last Good Thing for our Anniversary was all about Team SAB! We celebrated together, shared some awesome prizes, ate, drank and had a very Merry Christmas Party!
